For managers and professionals who seek personal and/or organizational development, Nyenrode has created the ‘researcher in residence’ program. In an environment that is both academic as well as practically-oriented, managers and professionals have the opportunity to fully explore one or more important business/management topics, under the supervision of a specialist Nyenrode professor. The manager or professional becomes a ‘researcher in residence’, which means that he or she is formally associated with the university and gets the formal title of ‘Researcher at Nyenrode’.

With the supervising Nyenrode faculty member an end-result is agreed upon. The faculty member will also help the researcher with maintaining the quality of the research. The ‘researcher in residence’ is given access to all university resources, including (inter)national networks, knowledge databases and faculty. He or she can also participate in selected seminars and conferences.

Tailor-made research project according to wishes
Each ‘researcher in residence’ gets the opportunity to shape the research project according to his or her own (company) wishes. The research project can be tailor-made in terms of invested time, location (physically or virtually at Nyenrode), relevance and research subject.

Research findings
A ‘researcher in residence’ project takes from 3 to 6 months. The research project can either result in a company specific – confidential – report, or in a practice-based or even academic publication. If needed, our communications department can assist in finding ways to promote the outcomes of the research.

Combining research with a current job
To enroll in the program, managers or professionals do not need to step down from their current position. The research project (3 to 6 months) can be combined with their job. Managers or professionals can invest their time depending on their availability. The research program is also suitable for managers or professionals who are inbetween jobs and wish to expand their horizon.

The costs of the program include a monthly fee of € 5,000 plus additional research
and faculty costs, depending on the scope and complexity of the project.
