Gloria Geschiere wins FD Career Challenge 2011
Gloria Geschiere, an interim manager with the government, has won the FD Career Challenge. She will receive a grant to the value of € 47,500 for the Nyenrode Executive MBA. In the FD Career Challenge 2011, the search was for the New Worker. In a short essay, SlideShare presentation or YouTube film, participants had to show how they put the 'new style of working' into effect and what opportunities they see. In the end, over 800 people sent in their contributions. The participant's network played an important role in the evaluation of the ideas. The candidates could call for feedback on their ideas via LinkedIn. During webinars, participants received information on networking, personal branding, the new style of working and other issues. The fifty finalists in the FD Career Challenge competed for the title on 11 - 12 March in a two-day mini-MBA at Nyenrode.

Business Seminar: 'Accountancy and the Small to Medium-size Business Sector in the 21st Century'
The participants in the 'Masterscriptie NU!' (Master's thesis NOW!) project received their diplomas on Thursday, 24 March. In this project, over 130 students wrote a thesis within the framework of the research project 'Accountancy and the small to medium-size business sector in the 21st Century'. Their research has shown that businesses in this sector are struggling under the burden of high administrative costs. For small companies (with a turnover of up to € 5 million), these amount on average to 5-8% of turnover. For larger companies (with a turnover of up to € 250 million) the average ratio is 1.5%. The diploma ceremony was followed by a business seminar involving parallel sessions with a number of research findings from these masters' theses and a presentation of the benchmark. CRM Leadership Program accredited by NIMA
As of 9 March 2011, Nyenrode's Executive Professional Program in CRM Leadership is accredited by NIMA. This accreditation took place within the framework of the Senior Marketing Professional (SMP) program. Senior Marketing Professional is an international marketing title at the second-highest level achievable. This European title was introduced by NIMA at the start of 2010. After initial certification, a certified marketeer has to keep up his marketing expertise, expanding and deepening his knowledge, insight and skills via permanent education. In that way, one can be certain that the knowledge of a certified marketeer is up to date. Nyenrode was already active in awarding PE points for accountants and controllers, and this has now been extended to marketeers. The accreditation can give participants in the Executive Professional Program in CRM Leadership up to 30 PE points.

Study: The Netherlands has the greatest Shortage of Young Professionals in Europe
Dutch companies have a greater shortage of young professionals than any other country in Europe, at 65 percent. The average shortage of young professionals in European companies is only 40 percent. This is the conclusion of the annual study 'Top Employers in the Netherlands' by the CRF Institute. Prof. Dr. Lidewey van der Sluis, professor of Strategic Talent Management at Nyenrode, lent her expert cooperation to the study.
