Prof. Dr. Jan Bots

Jan Bots is Professor of Controlling at Nyenrode School of Accountancy and Controlling. His research fields include Controlling, Information Economics and Information Management. He currently holds the position of program director of the Nyenrode Controlling programmes and is also director of the University's Accounting and Finance cluster.

 

He joined Nyenrode University in 1990 and held various positions at the Business School before he joined the School of Accountancy & Controlling where he participated in the start-up of the Executive Master in Finance and Control program in 1997 and the MSc Controlling in 1998. He works in close collaboration  the Association of Chartered Controllers.

Jan studied Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Production Engineering at Delft University of Technology (graduated in 1977). From 1977-1983 he worked at the EDP (Electronic Data Processing) department of Fokker aircraft company at Schiphol. He joined the Management Studies Group of Wageningen University from 1983-1992. He specialised in Information Management during these years. He received his PhD from Wageningen University in 1991. ​
